Walking Southwards from our rented house into Eastbourne you get a good view of the shingle beach, pier, promenade and groynes.

The shingly beach and groynes looking Northwards. It was a lovely day as you can see, with people on the beach. It was quite steep in places between some groynes, where the shingle had built up. There were still a few sandy patches, but if you dug into it for sandcastles, you hit stones and shingle quickly.

But it says no jumping Matthew!

V+M on the North side of Eastbourne pier. There's an arcade, gift shop, clothes boutique, tea rooms, sweet shops, ice cream parlour, bar, night club.

A mystery thing on the horizon. Could it be a moored ship? It seemed too large at that distance, and it didn't seem to move all holiday, and there was another one a bit further along. It wasn't the Sovereign Light Tower, which looks different.
